Indesit engineers wrecked my spindryer.

The first visit was simply an inspection to check out the corrosion and it was on the second visit that the appliance was dismantled to allow the repairer to replace the corroded parts.lincroft1710 said:If the engineers only came to inspect the corrosion, why did they start dismantling a machine which was functioning OK?samoulie said:The inspection visit resulted with the engineer saying replacement parts were needed. The second visit ended up with the engineer dismantling the spindryer before realising he needed even more parts, leaving it in pieces.0 -
The shop I bought it from has now closed down otherwise I would have contacted them first. All of my communication with indesit hs been via Facebook message, apart from the phone call from them to tell me the last part needed could not be sourced.

In which case you have no consumer rights so will have to negotiate with the manufacturer.samoulie said:The shop I bought it from has now closed down otherwise I would have contacted them first. How much are they offering? I would work out what it would cost to replace it second hand, then ask for a much bigger discount than this off a new one.Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)1 -
Ask them to return and re assemble. If they don't then get a quote for a local engineer to do it and sue for the cost. They should have checked the parts were available before taking it to pieces. I don't think they have demonstrated due care.1
