    Ah, I stand corrected, thanks.
  • I don't understand the point of that differentiation. When you apply for the SEISS grant, there is no opportunity to specify how much business you have lost in each month the grant covers. You either get it all, or you're not eligible and get nothing.

Oh well, I'm not complaining, just glad to be getting an offer of help if I need it.

It is simply an explanation of why it has gone up from 40% to 55% over the 3 months.
  • Hi,
I have just started up a business late August so had left my full time job then also, but due to the 2nd lockdown I am now unable to work and it seems I'm not eligible for self employed covid support nor furlough payments. I was wondering if anyone knew what financial support would be available for me. Many thanks
  • Universal credit will be your only option.

    And/or new style JSA.
    Use a benefits calculator https://www.gov.uk/benefits-calculators
UC will depend on your financial circumstances and if you are part of a couple will depend on your joint finances. You are excluded if you have savings over £16,000.
New style JSA is not means tested and will depend on having a complete NI record for 2017-18 and 2018-19 tax years. If you claim JSA you will have to look for employment.
Information I post is for England unless otherwise stated. Some rules may be different in other parts of UK.

Not really, though. This information would need to provide some clarity as to why this is happening. It looks as if it is linked to the English lockdown.

That's what I said. 80% for lockdown, 40% for the other 2 months, average over 3 months 53.3%, rounded to 55%.
