Credit card balance in credit, getting a refund...

I normally found them the same - however this was a bit more of a hassle - It took about 2 weeks for the refund to come through. Out of interest is your Amex paid by DD so they already have confirmed your bank details that way? I pay in full every month by debit card instead.Deleted_User said:Amex refunded me 4k via online chat last week - all they needed was confirmation of the account the refund was to go to. I've always found them the most responsive of all the cards I have.0 -
Is that last line actually true for credit balances?Deleted_User said:Amex refunded me 4k via online chat last week - all they needed was confirmation of the account the refund was to go to. I've always found them the most responsive of all the cards I have.
I chose to get the balance refunded as it would have taken 3-4 months to spend it, but more importantly, I'd have lost any s75 protection for those purchases, which is becoming increasingly valuable these days.0 -
Yes - DD - some may have been a different process.gjpowen said:

Yes - at least the provider can certainly take that stance, as no credit is being provided for the purchase.bradders1983 said:

Do you have a link to confirm this? I have never seen it confirmed anywhere tbh.Deleted_User said:

DD (on BA Amex card at least) are the one frustrating thing about Amex. If you want a DD that pays in full it comes out about 12 days before the balance due date, so you can't take advantage of the full interest free period if you are clearing your balance every month. That's why I pay by debit card a day or 2 before the due date.Deleted_User said:
