Hi SpenderA£,
You know exactly how I feel having gone through it yourself. You mentioned PayPal, I normally do use PayPal for my eBay purchases but I did not on this occasion (not enough funds in my account I think). I used my normal bank but I tried them and they will only help if there was a dispute with the supplier over the transaction, which there was no dispute.
Social media is the best way just to advise people of what happened I suppose. I have a Facebook account but hardly use it so maybe I could tell the story there, so thank you for that suggestion.
One thing I would like to share with you is what was quoted to me in an email from Argos, it was about the parcel not being collected within seven days, this should not have applied to my parcel as the sellers return address was on the parcel. They said “If there aren’t any return details on the parcel, the Store Manager will use their discretion and either dispose of the goods or donate them to a charity of their choice”. Is this actually true, it seems rather bizarre to me. Thanks again.

If you used a credit card over a one hundred you could ask for a charge back or section 17 possibly.
If you have a Resolver Account you could complain through there with Argos and Ebay although i found the Ebay complaints process like going round in circles.
Without Paypal being involved i think your most likely recourse would be with Ebay, i would pester them using free web-chats as they tend to put your complaint through to a host of different managers.
I used the Argos facebook page and vented my anger in the comments section underneath the most recent articles and they told me to private message them although Argos Customer Service was virtually non existent in my case.
I had to also deal with an angry seller who eventually lost out, it seemed wrong to me that the seller had confirmation of delivery only for an Argos staff member to take the item.
I would keep on to Ebay and Argos and don't take your foot off the gas until they break, i would use free methods like web-chat or free calls and possibly social media to get their attention.Time Is The Enemy!0 -
Hi SpenderA£,
Thank you for the information and suggestions I will persevere and concentrate on Argos using their Chat and Facebook. I do not think I would get far with eBay, to be honest they have done nothing wrong. Thanks again.
