Previous owners submitted wrong readings (accident?)

I moved in 19th April and got a £70 bill in may.

I didnt know I had a metered house (used to paying fixed amount everymonth)

I called up saying this bill is ridiculous as im the only one living in this house.

They suggested a leak test which came back negative.

Its August now and I've just submitted my water readings. As you can see, May June July August usage is just about 10 units. But somehow from 19th April (move in date) to 7th May is 30 units.

Do I have a case to get my money back? Seems previous occupiers (accidently) swapped the 6 and 9? Only logical thing I can think of.

OP what readings did you take when you moved in ??

Have you also checked gas elec etc .

Ring them up and tell them the reading when you move in, and get the bill recalculated, also get an email address from them and send the photo you took of the meter when you moved in, as your evidence.

You did take a reading and photo when you moved in, didn't you?

I'd guess that is a 'no' as you'd only take a reading if you knew there was a meter...
