All you can do is offer to do that. However, if the rent is a lot higher than the amount of benefits you're entitled to then you need to work out your outgoings against what you have coming in. The benefits will be a minimum amount of which a lot of people have great difficultly living off, without having to pay a large amount extra to cover rent.

If you say looks like you're getting nearer to £47 a month help then on a rent £500 a month your shortfall would be £453 a month.
Would you be able to afford to pay this amount of rent?

You say you have some of your own money. If you have savings/capital of £16,000 and over then you'll be excluded from claim UC and any other means tested benefits. Savings of under £16,000 and more than £6,000 will see a reduction of £4.35 per month for every £250 (or part there of) over than amount.
Thanks for the link to the benefits calculator, the money team at the citizens advice told me i would get 20 a month over
Not sure what they mean by that.
As you're single and over 25 then you'll be entitled to £409.89 per month standard allowance. Then your housing element on top of that.
However, your earnings received during your assessment period will reduce the amount of UC you're entitled to and with earnings of £575 this means your UC will reduce by £362.25 per month.
Do be aware that there's also a 5 week wait for your first payment. You can request an advance payment but this will need to be repaid back from future UC payments.
going by what you said i will get nearer to 47 pounds per month.

I missed this part. That doesn't seem correct based on your earnings each month. Please use the benefits calculator link i posted above and it will tell you what you'll receive from UC each month.

Thanks for your reply. I am struggling to find a flat that i like for the basic amount that the housing benefit will be. All going well i will have a few grand if i sell my car and buy something cheaper. I need to try and keep a car on the road so i have a better chance of getting a job one day. So i am hoping i can use the spare money to try and find a place of a better standard. I will offer the money up front if it means being accepted for that property i can only ask and see what they say.
