When should I request my PAC code?
I started my Vodafone sim only contract on 01/09/2019 (date of first bill) and I would like to end it now as I will be looking for a better deal. I would like to request my PAC code via the text message service but not sure when to do it. I have been stung before with 3 when I thought I claimed my PAC code at the right time only for them to hit me with early termination charge, even when their text message clearly said I dont owe them any thing if I move my number on that day.

It's not the requesting but the using of PAC, you will have 30 days from request to using before it lapses, that is the critical timing but how to judge it maybe someone else knowsI know my monthly SIM only I just bit the bullet as it would have been only a few quid anywayEight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens0

Personally I would request the PAC on Monday as it is valid for 30 days and use it as near to the end of the 30 days as possible bearing in mind to keep away from weekends and bank holidays so probably use it on Tueday 25th of August so the switch isnt affected by the weekend.1

Thank you. But if use the PAC code on 25/8, there is a risk the number will transfer on 26 or 27 August, which is before the completed 12 months (31/8) and then they will hit me with a charge even though the rent for August is already paid in advance on the bill dated 01/08.0

By requesting the PAC you are basically giving them 30 days notice.
Does it really matter if they end up charging you for a couple of days.0 -
If you are doing it by Text your final bill will be included in with your code so if you think it's too much you could aways leave it for a bit longer.Nobody is Perfect. I am Nobody, therefore I am Perfect.0

Iam sorry but I need to ask as I was stung by ETC by 3 which was even higher than a month's rent even though their text message said I will owe them £0 if I switch on that day. They claimed that their text message does not cater for ETC which will be calculated later. They actually issued me a final bill with £0 debit only to send me another bill a month later (2 months after I left them) demanding £25 in ETC.
So my contract with Vodafone ends on 31/08, if I request PAC code tomorrow (3/8) can I use it let's say on 1/9 considering that I will be out of contract OR will they penalise me because I did not give them the full 30 days notice (which should expire on 2/9)? In other words, can I use the PAC code as soon as Iam out of contract or do I have to complete the 30 days notice and use the PAC code on its last day before it expires?0
