Quarantine

Hi
I am living in Egypt, and have to return to the UK for business. but only want to stay a few days.
Is that possible, or do I have to stay for 14 days and go into quarantine?

If you are required to quarantine and will be here less than 14 days, you will instead quarantine for the length of your visit - probably best to delay the business trip until you would not be required to quarantine

Thanks but every country in Africa is on the 14 day quarantine list.
Really can't see them changing that soon.
Egypt have 4774 deaths due to the virus with a population of over 100 million.

What does that mean?
So I can come from Egypt only for a few days and go back, without having to stay for 14 self isolating?

It means you have to self isolate for the entire duration of your visit.

The OP would not be able to attend any business meetings within the first 14 days in the UK.  On that basis it would seem pointless to come.  Can't the meetings be held via Skype or similar.

Exactly this. So you won't be able to have any face to face business meetings. Other than eg you remaining in your home with the front door open and someone else on the street at least 2m away from you.

But my original question was can I come to the UK for less than 14 days and go back to Egypt.
Or once I set foot in the UK, I must stay for at least 14 days before leaving.

Not sure but what would be the point in coming at all in that case?
