Ryanair are refusing to cancel the flight next week to Majorca therefore not refunding any money. This cannot be correct can it?

why? UK holiday makers are not the only passengers on flights to and from the UK and many people are electing to go anyway, some have the luxury of being able to accommodate quarantine on return, some take out enhanced travel insurance. FCO is just advice, not the law.

This is where your insurance kicks in if you have insurance that covers you for FCO advice.pkeillor said:Ryanair are refusing to cancel the flight next week to Majorca therefore not refunding any money. This cannot be correct can it?1 -
Why would they cancel it? they need to get the plane out there to bring people home? there may be people from Majorca that have travelled to the UK and need to return....would you expect them to cancel flights and tell everyone they need to stay where they are?...who should pay for their accommodation whilst they are stuck?pkeillor said:Ryanair are refusing to cancel the flight next week to Majorca0 -
Why else does the plane fly to that day?pkeillor said:Ryanair are refusing to cancel the flight next week to Majorca therefore not refunding any money. This cannot be correct can it?0 -
Why on Earth can’t it be correct?pkeillor said:Ryanair are refusing to cancel the flight next week to Majorca therefore not refunding any money. as has been said many times in the past. the reason that ryanair is so cheap is because when things go wrong you're on your own.sadly people forget this and just compare prices and buy the cheapest.0

Yes Ryanair gets a lot of complaints but mainly because people want it all - low budget price with 5 star treatments. Aint going to happen. In the main I find that if you stick to the rules and regs with Ryanair they are fine. If you try to appeal for mercy because of your individual circumstances then forget it. Obviously with this unprecedented situation I do feel sorry for people who are likely to lose money or having to pay more to rebook but everyone is having to make choices and sacrifices in one way or another. I hope Ryanair do survive and I suspect many people will rebook with them in future despite their protests to the contrary - IF the price is right.0

But there is no fault attached to Ryanair in this case. OP does not want to travel on an available flight, and is complaining because 'they won't cancel it'!oscarward said:as has been said many times in the past. the reason that ryanair is so cheap is because when things go wrong you're on your own.sadly people forget this and just compare prices and buy the cheapest. No free lunch, and no free laptop

And sadly most days we are seeing the same thing being said again and again and people seem to think they have an automatic right to what they think is fair.macman said:

I have flown with RA and they are fine. A means to an end. People boast of having got flights for say £10, and moaning they have to pay to take luggage! Its funny - people cannot often see the wood for the trees on this sort of thing, they dont want to travel and they think the whole flight should be cancelled.
I am looking for insurance to save my Spainish holiday and there are some threads on here. There was also an excellent article in the Telegraph as well on this. My villa is non refundable so I either dont travel and lose the experience (not the money - that has already gone) or I try and make it work.
Of course I fully accept that some people cannot self isolate for work reasons. But lots can including me so unless the country is in lockdown I am going....2
