Moving house with a baby to a house without carpet

My partner, myself and our 11 month old son are moving house next Friday.
The move has been on going since February but stalled due to covid. Everything has kicked into motion over the last week and now we have a completion date of August 7th.
The only problem is the house we are moving to isn't carpeted and the earliest fitting we could get was August 24th.
We plan on spending a lot of time in the kitchen as that is tiled so we won't have to worry about our son trying to crawl and walk on the floor boards. But apart from some large felt strips and and large rug, we have nothing to cover the floor boards in the meantime.
Does anyone have any recommendations for a temporary cover over the floor boards?

Cheap vinyl flooring offcuts.
That stuff like cling film that is stuck down by plasterers to cover everything and looks like you are preparing for a gory murder.0 -
What is your actual concern about your son on the floorboards? Are the boards in a really bad condition or something like that?I'm just trying to get an idea of how thick a covering would need to be (or if one is actually needed).0

You could also buy an inexpensive travel cot to act as a playpen for short periods when you need to be in an unprotected room.2

Yes, whatever happened to play pens?

We had no carpets when our son was younger. Kids are resilient and adapt to their environment very quickly so it will be fine!1

Not having a carpet reduces the chances of baby developing asthma and eczemaGather ye rosebuds while ye may1
