ATE [ Authority to Exchange] / How long does this take?

So sorry to hear this. Was this discovered when your documents were being reviewed by the Help to Buy Agent or at what point was this discovered?

HTB when issuing ATE ... although on ATP the post code was wrong as well so i don’t have a clue . 

Lender already sorted this out it’s my post code should be AB99 A99 is AB98 A99 so it’s changing a 9 to 8 , everything else is fine ... I’m just mentally preparing myself for another couple of weeks ... 
** update ** 
ATE supersedes the ATP so HTB actually said their fuckup on the post code in ATP doesn’t matter . I was lucky and they will look into my case next so no 8 days waiting 😁 
now let’s hope everything is ok and we can exchange.... will be very stressful afternoon.

Please accept this email as confirmation that your Authority to Exchange (ATE) has now been issued. We have sent a copy to your Solicitor and Developer. However, you will not receive a copy yourselves.

I haven’t told my other half about it to save her the stress .
And she texted me all jolly that we got our ATE.

Quick question please, how far in were you on the SLA, working day 2 or working day 5 of the 8 working days?

@Bfa10 it’s actually hard to judge the SLA. 

05/08 - applied for ATE ( we ware advised we need a new offer as our current one has wrong product ) 
10/08 - new offer received and forwarded to HTB 
11/08 - called HTB , they got the documents after 2pm so 11/08 is our submission date so 12/08 will be our 1 SLA. Advised we can expect ATE on 21-24/08 with current timeline. 

11/08 - called our developer and asked him to escalate with HTB ( was advised only developer can escalate) 
12/08 - developer called , HTB didn’t get all the papers from solicitor, they informed the solicitor she will sort it out 
14/08 - wrong post code and all 
14/08 - ATE, exchange and completion set to “20/08” .
well let’s hope it will be all smooth now.
14/08 - house insurance( once you exchanged it’s your responsibility) 

If you ready to complete ask you developer to give HTB a nudge.

Wow! Thank you so much for the piece of information. We are currently on working day 5 and waiting.. so i'll see how the idea with the developer works and give feedback.

@bfa10 what’s you agent ? 

Hints
- don’t email them it’s pointless
- don’t social network them it’s pointless , they will give you a number to you HTB.
- you can always say that you need to complete ASAP as you kids school requires you to complete before you can apply ( hope they will not question it)

my one is south so on average after 3 calls 1h20 minutes of waiting .

It’s a lottery as on my 1 and 2 call they said they don’t have a way to speak to actual agents that do the ATP/ATE/ATC and today the lady I’ve spoken to put me on hold and checked with her colleague that he will do it ASAP. They do ask you when it’s you completion date so if you to complete within couple months don’t mention it .

Thank you very much for the hints. Agent is 3 and completion date has been scheduled to take place on the 28th August. The developer wants it done then and not after. So I will definitely be giving the developer angle a try and see what happens first.
