Resident permit and car weight

Most RPP's are specific to a street/area/zone - and as the name suggests, for residents in that area. You can get a business RPP (at least in the city where I live) which allows you to park in any RPZ, but they aren't cheap (unless you work for the authority that issues them
) and are only designed for people who visit place to place to be used whilst working in that street etc.

takmon oh please before you jump at my throat I am a resident of the borough just don’t live in that specific area so not sure but I need to park as I work there every day and I cant afford just paying IN A CAR PARK on the day which would amount to £200 a month,
it seems I need a permit before i can buy a season ticket to park AT ONE OF THE CAR PARKS.0 -

The fact that you are a resident of the borough is irrelevant because the car park is such a distance to your house that you need to drive there so you will not be eligible for a Residents Season Ticket.
If they were happy for people to park there for work then they wouldn't require them to have a residents permit to get a season ticket.
If you don't understand that then i don't see how i can explain it in a way that you will. But you will soon find out this when your rejected for a permit for not living near to the car park.0 -
Right, I spoke to the council, they said no parking permit needed to buy a season ticket so that makes sense. Thanks for the helpful answer0

Well looks like we are talking about 2 separate things, Resident Permit and Regular season tickets ? I now understand Areas are split into zones which makes sense. I don’t live in this specific area but either way, the council said season tickets for car parks (not off street parking) can be bought by anyone outside the zone so that makes it easier.0
