I’ve not heard of burgess vine, but I’ve just searched for them and they do get excellent reviews for taste. I like to try something different every year so these are in the list for next year - diolch, taff! In searching for the burgess vine I’ve also discovered the real seed place, where nothing is F1 so you can save your own seed. I’m currently planning a sizeable shop .......

I love Real Seeds. I just dscovered they have a facebook page where you can see they just bought an old seed packing machine and all sorts..
I do apolgise to your bank balance..It takes a chunk out of mine every year...Get in early though for next year because they do sell out quite quickly of the popular stuff.

My Real Seed Burgess squash seedlings all got hit by the latest frost in memory. I do have a large yellow squash(?) producing well, but it's not Burgess which comes out green, and I have no idea..
But the round courgette above looks like Rond de Nice, which I also have on my patch along with striped zucchini and Tromba d'Albenga (a climbing squash) which has also gone mad. Had some of the latter tonight sauted in good olive oil.
You've just reminded me I need to save some (Real Seed) seeds this week: Morton's Mix lettuce, an experimental blend,  where I had three lovely variegated leaf lettuces all with different shaped leaves.

I am growing Kabocha squash this year. Apparently half the calories of butternut, but I just fancied a change.
