Virgin mobile - bad move
Options
Hi all,
Usually I’m on the ball with technology but in this case have made a mistake! I switched from EE to Virgin because of the good deal and because I thought WiFi calling was part of the deal. Put the new SIM in my phone to start the process of my number transfer to find that there seems to be no WiFi calling on the iPhone 11, despite the Virgin website saying that they had WiFi calling available.

I now need to cancel the transfer and get out of this SIM deal as part of the 14 day cooling off period. As I’ve started the number transfer from EE, I’m guessing this is going to make things very complicated?
Advice much appreciated!
Thanks.

I had Virgin Mobile for a while and wasn't aware WiFi Calling was available. According to this page:
https://devicesupport.virginmedia.com/customer/device/Apple/iPhone11/scenario/enable-or-disable-wifi-calling#l=vmcust&lHsim=vmcust&d=Apple/iPhone%2011&s=LCX_Root&loc=virginmobile&externalSessionId=d9160984fc6a4e398e702e1783304297
iPhone 11 is supported.0 -
Thanks for the reply. I have just phoned them (15 min wait - not too bad) and they say that it is not activated on my account and this can't be done at the moment until my old number comes across tomorrow. If Wifi calling works I will stay!0

Phoned up on 789 and then option 2 for mobile. It does keep on saying that their call
centres are busy but if you wait it eventually puts you through to the queue system.0 -
Just also be aware that Virgin's WiFi-calling won't allow calls to move between WiFi & the mobile network, which EE's will. Until Virgin have 4G-calling (which I suspect will not be anytime soon), that's not going to change. I don't know if that's an issue for you or not.

Thanks for letting me know. Does that mean if I lose WiFi signal my call will disconnect and not try to bounce back to the network?0

I have wifi calling on Virgin but I switched it off because the call quality was terrible (on my home hub at least).
