Currys return policy ?

My wife has just incurred a £33 phone bill for a 4 hour call to Currys ! Anyone else had a similar problem ? We could not email or message in any other way ? We could not believe this. The faulty 'Fitbit '  which were trying to send back was only worth a bit more than the actual phone call ? Crazy ? A huge con ? Please help ? Can we reclaim our phone bill  back ? Should we be reimbursed for our considerable inconvenience ? I certainly would not reccomend Currys to anyone in the future, a terrible, time-wasting , rip off service ! Thank you
