Couldn't find anything better than Battleface.  Provided the insurance coverage we need, goods reviews (including when people had made a claim) and I spoke to one of the people there to confirm that if flights get cancelled before we travel then the insurance premium would be refunded.

Hi - thanks - I haven't found anything better than Battleface either, I'm happy with the quote we got for 13 days / family of 4 (£141) - just need to see what happens with the flights now!

Hi - I just got a quote from Campbell Irvine, covering Spain but excluding any claims (including medical) relating to Covid, for £66.  So baggage, delay, cancellation, hospitalisation for anything *except* Covid

Be careful with Battleface. They say they will cover you in very much the same way your ehic card will. They will NOT fly you home though.
I rang them twice yesterday to clarify this. Got two different answers. Not convinced they are legit.

The cover I purchased with them clearly stated repatriation

    • Our Emergency Medical Expenses, Evacuation, Repatriation of Mortal Remains, Baggage, Personal Money and Passport benefits have a standard excess/deductible of £250. For extra premium, this can be reduced down to £50 through our purchase path ADD-ONs tab

When you say 'not fly you home' - in regards to what situation?
  • i re read all policy documentation and all looks standard and in line with other insurance. you must report to them first to be covered but again, also standard.

Hello, We have just been told we cant claim back our insurance for our holiday to France that was cancelled in May. I emailed the company on technically was the last day of the holiday to ask if we can put it on hold until we could re book and no answer until a few days ago. Told as they had covered those days insurance wise the policy was now used and no option to delay or get a refund.  Can this be right as you couldnt go anywhere at that time due to C|ovid 19???   Do i just accept that the moneys gone or should go back and try again. This was with Legal and General.

When did you take out the insurance?
Is it an annual policy or a single trip policy?

If you had car insurance, would you ask for a refund at the end of the year, because you hadn't claimed?  N0.
