Hi.
I have passed on my old phone to my wife. She has never owned a phone before but she said she'd seldom use it. We sent for a sim and inserted it. She wants it on Pay as you go and not use it as a pay monthly where if you put a tenner on it, she wants it to last and not run out after a month. I believe there is something you text like STOP or something similar to EE to prevent it from having to be topped up every month.
Kind regards Jeff.

So did you get a free PAYG SIM from EE without paying anything yet, or what..?
For low usage on 'pure' Pay as you Go service, EE is probably not the best choice...Evolution, not revolution0 -
The phone was a sim only contract before and the phone itself is locked to EE, so nothing else i could do. I did send for a new sim card which arrived late last week. I knew that pay as you go top ups only last a month before they're wiped. It was just a sim that she could top up with a fiver and that will last all year as she probably only use it a couple of times.0

try an Asda PAYG sim who use EE network - just need to make a chargeable text or call very 180 days to keep the number active. No need to buy bundles, just top up and use that0

If your contract has finished EE will unlock it free of charge. Stick your old SIM back in (assuming you are still with EE) and then contact them.
Just Google unlocking EE mobile for details.
Once unlocked you can choose whichever network you want for the phone.1 -
