Well - it’s on the minds of many in the housing market - and have just come across this article that should answer everyone’s burning question as to whether house prices will go up or down. 😂

There is a pressure on house prices to fall, because peoples wealth will fall. If the Government are paying back debt, there will be less money in the system. They will make sure that inflation will carry on, around or above 2%; the minimum wage and wages for the NHS will rise at 2%-3%0

I think we can predict, looking at the current state of the economy! There's a recession on the way so we can assume that house prices will drop.holyrottweiler said:

After lockdown, which isn't over yet really, there's bound to be a recession because the economy is struggling so much. So I reckon there's no alternative but for house prices to drop. Please note - taken from the Forum Rules and amended for my own personal use (with thanks) : It is up to you to investigate, check, double-check and check yet again before you make any decisions or take any action based on any information you glean from any of my posts. My guess is prices will fall a bit but i’m still not convinced we will see a crash.Interest rates are very low and there is still a big housing shortage.0

Agreed with all the views above and recession is probably creeping up on us, but we aren't living in normal times and things are a bit unpredictable at the moment. I think it depends on three factors; how long Corona is going to last, how many people are being made redundant this year and Brexit. I don't know the answer to any of these factors.0

Have the Daily Mail accidentally reported facts?. That'll confuse its usual readers expecting, "unemployed lesbian migrant mother of eight trains pit bull to attack police"."Estate agents are reporting any old rubbish they think people want to hear". The irony.5

In reply to the piece of satire posted above, I agree that, in the foreseeable future, house prices may indeed rise or fall.

Prices will go up.. and down..They always did. There have been significant periods when property was an unwise investment.
