Regarding Electric Meter Bypass
Comments

The bell transformer doesn't appear to be supplying anything so could be disconnected?0

Robin9 said:The "box" market RYB is the incoming cable from the distribution network - in this case it splits very messily and one goes to a similar grey box under the meter immediately above. Don't know what the little box at the end of your red line is.
What was the main switch you say was ?
PS The meter read kWh not kW0 -
Are you saying the reading went up?0

@Talldave
Yes, so he was not at home for two weeks and he noticed the meter was reading even when the main switch was off.0 -
it should just sit there showing the same reading until the main switch is switched on again, at which point it should increment based on units actually used.0
-
Not sure what your friend means by reading - it will always display a reading - the question is was that reading different to when he went away.?Never pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill0
-
@Robin9 yes the reading is different when he was away for two weeks and it's by a 20-40Kwh margin0
-
Rather than switch off at the single switch - switch off at the consumer unit and see if that makes a difference.Never pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill0
-
@robin9 I will tell me to do that. not even sure where to find that the consumer unit.0
