UKPC fine at shopping park do i appeal? 2020

Options
hi all. we went to a shopping park last month on 17th June. we never received anything from UKPC until this morning stating we over stayed and need to pay now pay £100 fine. the thing is i had 2 disabled kids with me, we had to queue in the 2 stores we went into. we most likely lost track of time but I'm shocked that they are fining people even at this unprecedented times. what happened to understanding and kindness at these times of need. we only went for clothing that was desperately needed so not a luxury day out spending money. cannot believe they lied stating they sent a letter out last month when clearly they didn't now demanding £100. thats sooooo much for us a family . £100 is liek weeks of food and staying under a roof.
what should i do? i rang just now as soon as i got the letter crying my eyeballs out but they are closed till monday. it says bayliffs and debt collectors will turn up if i don't pay. i really don't need this
and yes they do have a sinage on the entrance and yes i am annoyed now that ive realised i over stayed but at that time i dodnt realised i had gone over. so please no negative comments. i'm already down.

No bailiffs or debt collectors will turn up , not without it going to court first , which hasn't happened yet

It's not a fine either , it's an invoice , a PCN , nothing more than a demand for money

Read the newbies FAQ sticky thread near the top of the forum

Follow plan A , complain like mad to the stores , the retail park , the landowner , plus to your local MP as well , try for a cancellation asap first

Use the blue text template from the newbies FAQ sticky thread , appeal as keeper using the blue text template to ukpc , do not reveal who was driving , not to anyone at all , use the word WE , never use the word I

Post up a redacted copy of the letter you have received from UKPC please.

Ukpc have 14 days under the law named POFA to issue a postal invoice to the keeper , so they did so in half that time

Today's letter is the reminder letter , not the first letter

They say they issued one a month ago , even if you did not receive it , doesn't mean that they lied

Assuming they did issue letter 1 a month ago , that one complied with POFA , although you state it was not received , so a difference of opinion that you cannot prove or disprove

You cannot say that they lied because you have no proof , all you can say is that it was not posted through your letterbox. You should be careful and not make allegations without concrete proof

Letter 2 that arrived today is their reminder letter , one that you have received

Nine times out of ten these tickets are scams, so consider complaining to your MP., it can cause the scammer extra costs, and in some cases, cancellation.

Parliament is well aware of the MO of these private parking companies, many of whom are former clampers, and on 15th March 2019 a Bill was enacted to curb the excesses of these shysters. Codes of Practice are being drawn up, an independent appeals service will be set up later this year,

Just as the clampers were finally closed down, so hopefully will many of these companies, persistent offenders denied access to the DVLA database and unable to operate.

Hopefully life will become impossible for the worst of these scammers, but until this is done you should still complain to your MP, citing the new legislation.
