Q. a)Do I have to get bt and or openreach to replace the master socket /line into building ?
b) can another supplier do this for boardband only without the need for a phone line rental ?
cheers

cheersSign up with a provider of your choice using your address. They'll be able to figure out what needs to be done and they'll tell you if a cost is involved in installing a new line (some providers may provide it for free if you sign up for long enough, others won't). And they'll come and do the work. Costs nothing to find out on the websites.Note that if you want broadband down the phone line you will almost certainly have to take a phone line, but of course you don't have to use it.Technically speaking all "new line" stuff is done by Openreach. You can't deal with Openreach directly they only deal with the ISPs and if there is a fault it'll be Openreach who comes to fix it.1 -
