Termination fee for leaving when Origin can't supply me any more

I'd like to warn other users that I recently moved house and asked Origin to switch supply to my new address. Apparently they cannot supply in my new area and therefore as I have to switch supply are charging me £220 for terminating my contract. I don't know if anyone else has this problem. As far as I am concerned they are terminating it as they cannot provide the service. If you are considering Origin as a supplier be warned and choose a fairer provider.

You are terminating the contract, your contract was for supply at an address, you are the that changed that, not them.2

They're not terminating it. You are. Not their fault you're moving to an area they can't provide service to.

What does your contract say ?0

Why can't Origin provide service at your new location? If it is because it only has FTTP then the majority of ISPs, apart from BT, Zen and a few others, do not currently offer FTTP. It is therefore quite likely that those ISPs who couldn't provide FTTP would also charge early termination charges.0

It's you that is cancelling and you would be in exactly in the same situation with any other ISP.
You'll just have to cough up what you owe.0 -
