Dodgy back-street car dealers will always know an MOT station that will pass anything that can be pushed into the garage. And dodgy landlords will always know an electrician who will do a "drive by" EICR with nothing above a Code 3 defect.
If it sticks, force it.
If it breaks, well it wasn't working right anyway.0
