According to paragraph 27 of their WS, the signage said £100:-

According to my Maths, over the two cases, (and let's assume £400 for the two hearing legal reps), Horizon will have had to pay out £640 in order to recover £201 and that's without any other legal costs being recharged by Gladstones.

I did point that out when I spoke, that Para 27 contradicts itself, but looks like it cut no mustard.

I think as with the first hearing, the Judge probably had his mind made up at the start. The first Judge seemed very anti-PPC, whereas today's chap was prepares to give them the benefit of the doubt.

Indeed, so why do they persist with taking these to Court when there's a high risk of losing? I can only assume they've worked out they are likely to win more hearings than they lose.

Pour encourager les autres ... they'll point to this claim (ignoring all the other ones they lost) when pestering other people.

    Hello again all,

So I've now received the General Form of Judgment or Order form instructing me to pay debt and costs to the Claimant.
Just for my peace of mind, is this form the same as a CCJ? It doesn't say so on the form, but in small print at the bottom it says the judgment will be filed with the Register of Judgment, Orders and Fines and passed to credit reference agencies, which will make it difficult for me to get credit.

Yes it is ... a CCJ is a County Court Judgment ... exactly what you have received. You need to pay it within the timescale defined to avoid it being registered.
Thanks for confirming. I originally agreed with the Judge to pay in instalments of £100 p/month for 3 months, but I'm worried about my credit rating being affected so I'm just going to pay off the whole costs in one lump sum so that it can be scratched off the Register.

Yes you must pay off the full amount before the date specified on that Judgment.
Get a receipt from the Claimant and prove to the court that the payment has been made in full before the deadline given on that Judgment.

Otherwise, it will remain on the register, but marked as 'satisfied', for six years.

NEVER NEVER pay a court judgment by instalments - wow - stop!
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
