Woody,
Confession time.
Back in 2011, my marriage dicentigrated before my eyes, left me in quite a bad financial state, long story short, had to resort to high interest payday loans, not proud, but I was in meltdown at the time.
Was in the payday spiral for two years, whilst paying off my IVA 🙄, stupid I know, but times were tough.
Paid them all back, but obviously struggled, been in an IVA an all.
Anyway, your post inspired me, I was you back then, constant spiral of borrowing from one lender, to pay off another, all wages disappearing, then re-borrowing, bad times, any way, I borrowed from the following :
Uncle buck
Lending stream
Swift Stirling
Sunny
Quickquid
I sent written complaint to all of them, so far, sunny have refunded interest, and removed history from credit file.
Quickquid are looking into my complaint.
So are uncle buck.
Lending stream are making me an offer on Monday.
Swift sterling have yet to respond, as they are based in Malta, I'm not holding my breath on that one.
Anyway, it was a bad time for me, so anything I get back will be a bonus, as I must of paid them all thousands in interest and fees.

I have Wonga, paydayuk and 247moneybox looking into my complaint still. Emailed my complaints at the start of December and have had the standard 8 week response acknowledgment although to be fair wonga have periodically emailed to say they are looking into the complaint.
Quickquid and lending stream dismissed the complaint outright so these 2 are both with the FO and we are waiting for the outcome.
For 2 years I was borrowing from these 5 companies every month with the amounts increasing and sometimes borrowing more than I even earned only to pay it back and start all over again! I will keep you updated.0 -
Sourcrates and jon8sher I hope all goes well.....just keep pushing them dont let them mess you around or fob you off with some 10 quid offer, if you believe you have the right to get back more go to the ombudsman....it wasn't until I started really looking in each loan that I realised just how many thousands I paid back.....must admit I was slightly embarrassed to start with speaking with my adjudicator but he was so good and went through everything with great detail, I can not thank the guys and girls at the ombudsman enough.0

Fascinating thread. I'm just a bit vjnfused about where to start making a complaint if anyone can help?
That should say confused. I'm on my phone and it won't let me change it!
What info do I need? Do I email them
And complain that they were lending to me even though couldn't afford and had bad credit file?
Thanks0 -

Hi,
If you were caught in the payday loan trap, and you were granted credit you could not afford, it's always worth complaining.
You can email, or send a written complaint, lots of information about how to complain here :
