Hi since 2015 I have used payday loan companies to live from month to month I have fallen into a trap and am only just able to get myself out of it - 4 defaults later and a mound of debt :( I had a guarnator loan that was over 79% interest and I have just tallied up via my noddle report 35 pay day loans in the space of 3 years. I never knew my problem was so bad until I decided to do my own table in excel showing the dates and amounts that ive paid and borrowed and defaulted but now its there in black and white i feel like a total and utter idiot. I have looked online via Redbridge about reclaiming money and I did use the Resolver function to start claims against Wonga but they just knocked me back. I've been rubbish in terms of keeping records and I changed bank accounts a couple of times oveer the years. Do I stand any chance of reclaiming any of the ridiculous amounts of defualts and interest payments that I have made the last few years? Is it worth using a claims company to deal with it given the amount of loans tha tI hav ehad?

Dont use a company to do it for you - amount of loans doesn't matter. Use the debt camel site to get a letter together and send it to each of the companies you used. I kept a spreadsheet with a timeline on to help me. I would advise doing something similar, but its worth the work you put in!

Just a quick message to update:
Northway Financial have offered £2790 which I have accepted.
Lending Stream said 2 out of the 3 loans were affordable and have offered £134.40 as that's what I paid on the 3rd loan. I have accepted.
Quickquid basically told me my loans were all too old even though I was still paying them in 2015. Its been referred to FOS.
Wagedayadvance are still working on it...the 8 week period ends on 16th April. (accepted an offer yesterday of £3045.87 on loans 11 and 15-23)
Wonga's 8 weeks are up on 17th April.
MrLender's 8 weeks are up on 17th April.
Uncle Buck's 8 weeks are up on 17th April. (said the loans were affordable-off to FOS)
Payday UK haven't come back to me since initial contact. Their time is up on 17th April. offered £197 as payment on one loan, said the rest were affordable. Accepting
Payday Express said the loans were affordable so I have sent it onto the FOS.

I can't thank the original posters on this thread enough - and to think I stumbled upon it on 16th February 2018 and have now claimed back over £5000 with hopefully more to come!

    Hi,

How long did it take for your payday loan with payday Uk to be resolved. I currently have one with the FOS for loans with PDUK dating back to 2009 and had been with them since May last year. Was just wondering how long yours took

Don't we need to take some responsibility here? I had 7 loans at one point. It was my fault. I applied for them knowing what the repayments were. Yes they are a rip off but the only way to turn your financial life around is to take responsibility and change the way you handle money.
I'm fat. Shall I go and ask for a refund on the last 100 chocolate bars I ate? Think not. Yes you might be angry and embarrassed by what you did but deal with it. getting loans written off is not victory. You lost the day you applied for them. be the winner by managing money so these rip off loan companies don't have customers to begin with.

I’m sorry what was the point of the above message? Yeah cheers thanks for your unhelpful input....

The fact that these monsters have made billions of pounds in profit from desperate people who thought they had no other choice. It makes me happy that people are getting refunds on their interest that they’ve made.

I hope that every other person takes your comment with a pinch of salt. Moving on....

HI everyone - it's been a couple of years since I reclaimed from my loans.

Part of what I wanted was for them to be removed from my credit file as I was trapped in the cycle (like so many people) and so wasn't really borrowing irresponsibly from choice - I was forced to re-borrow. I'm in a much better situation now (I have savings!) and am looking to getting a mortgage in the coming years. The companies promised that they would request that the loans I was compensated for would be removed from my credit file within 30 - 45 days. I have this in written emails.

Has anyone noticed if the loans have come off from their credit files? When I check clearscore, noddle etc they still show up in the "accounts closed" section. Are the credit reference agencies like Noddle, Clearscore the same reports that a lender would see?

I'd really like these removed to help improve my chances with getting a mortgage - or at least, not be penalised for being extorted some 4 or 5 years ago from irresponsible lending practices. Was anyone else promised to have the loans removed from their credit report - have they been removed from your noddle, clearscore etc credit reports?

I know that all settled accounts come off after 6 years, but where I was stuck re-borrowing over 2 - 3 years it wouldn't be until 2021 until they're ALL gone. I was hoping to buy somewhere sooner than that and have been advised that even having a settled payday loan from 5 years ago would adversely impact your score and immediately block certain mortgage applications..
