I'm still waiting here, they have told me that they will respond by the end of the month. Fingers crossed it goes well.
I had lots of loans with them over a years period of time, kept on rolling over and over got the limit upto about 900 if I remember.
Payday express paid me off, quickquid turned me down and I think that's it for payday loans right now.
I would like Wonga to pay me back something like 7/800 would be great but lets see.0 -
Just wanted to post a quick thank you - to the OP and to all others who have posted.
I have just had the below offer come through from Sunny:- A full refund of all interest and charges paid in respect of your loan, totalling £1063.26 (you borrowed £1106.01 and repaid £2169.27)
- Simple interest at 8%, calculated on the above figure, totalling £198.48.
- The record of your loan will be removed from your credit file; we will update Equifax, Experian, and CallCredit.
I'm still waiting on outcomes from a couple of others but this was the biggest and the one I thought was least likely to lead to anything - so I'm chuffed!
Thanks very much guys! :T0 -
Long time lurker on this forum but thought I would I would chime in here as I have found it very interesting.
For various reasons I feel into the payday loan cycle between 2012 and 2014, when I finally paid off the last of them via a DMP and I haven't been near one since thankfully.
After paying of my DMP I wrote two very strong complaints to Wonga and Quickquid. Wonga made me an offer of compensation which I accepted, Quickquid wouldn't admit any wrong doing and I eventually withdrew my complaint from the Ombudsman as I was just fed up having anything to do with the companies and wanted to put it behind me. Wonga didn't remove anything from my credit Reports though so I may raise that with them.
I had loans from Payday Express, Payday UK also in the past (June 2014 was the last dealing with them) and I'm wondering if I should now complain to them or if it's too late? Also has enough got a template they use? The loans are that far back I'm not sure if I will have all the details other than what I can garner from my credit report.0 -
Hi Hollip0p,
I put my complaint in to Sunny a week ago, how long did your's take? Well done on you're success 0 -

Hi Welshie,
I sent a request for a statement of my account on 13th May, they got back to me with it on the 15th May and I sent my complaint off the same day.
On the 20th May, they acknowledged my complaint and just double checked they understood what I was asking for.
Then they got back to me yesterday - so just over 7 weeks from my initial e-mail.
Best of luck with yours - I hope it comes through for you!0 -
Hello everyone.
Heads up this may be a long post!
I am a long time reader and thought I would share my situation with you.
I first became aware of the potential to claim back the interest and charges when I saw the recent news that Quick Quid were refunding many people. I figured I would send them an email regarding the two most recent loans I had with them which were for £600 and £650. I calculated I had paid back the original £1,250 plus an extra £833.60 in interest and fees so have asked for this back but I had numerous other loans before this and went along the grounds that they should not have lent to me so many times and for so much money.
The eight-week deadline for this is up this Friday so I am getting ready to pursue this and will also request 8% interest on top of this.
Now for the interesting bit. Having read through a lot of this forum I decided to go through all my bank statements and extract all the other loans and repayments to/from other companies. Turns out over the years I have paid back just under £12,000 on top of the original loan amounts so am about to start itemising everything and sending emails out to everyone I had borrowed from.
I think at one point I had 8 active loans from different companies so am hoping I can use this in my favour.
Fingers crossed some good can come out of this and I hope everyone can get something back from these companies.0 -
Coming up to week 3 since my complaint was escalated to the Ombudsman-hoping to hear something soon.Quis custodiet ipsos custodes?0

Sounds like a good case Adam. I'd recommend getting your credit report as soon as possible and keeping it on file. As you start winning the loans will start dropping off your file and you'll need evidence of the situation as it was.
Good luck.0 -
Hopefully one of my final updates.
The FOS adjudicator changed his mind about the Satsuma loans after the business provided more information. Sadly Satusuma (Provident Financial) hide behind the fact that they purposely do not complete full credit checks prior to issuing loans. This means that they can say "how were we to know about his/her financial difficulties?" In my mind this a total disgrace, and they should be absolutely flogged for brushing their responsibilities to one side.
What I have been able to do is escalate the complaint for another reason. They took 14 weeks to answer my initial complaint, they also failed to provide the adjudicator any information when he asked for it. They only provided information once the adjudicator had provided his initial opinion upholding my complaint. On this basis I have lodged a separate complaint with the FOS for the distress caused by not handling the complaint in an appropriate manner. This will cost them a further £550. This is the 4th complaint I've raised against them - £2200 in FOS fees.
I have also raised a complaint with the FCA over their lending criteria process and their complaint handling process.
If anyone else deals with Satsuma make sure you raise as many complaints as possible so it really hurts them.
I am still waiting for a final ombudsman ruling on my complaint against Uncle Buck. His initial opinion was to uphold my complaint, but once again they've given the lender a final chance to provide additional information.
I really think the FOS needs to be more ruthless. If the Lender can't be bothered to provide information at the time, the ruling should stand.0 -
The FOS is an arbitrary organisation, they are not the regulator, the FCA is the regulator.
If you want to change things, complain to the FCA, the more complaints received about a company, the more likely they are to launch an investigation into there buisness practices.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards.
