Hi all,
I have finally been assigned to an adjudicator today, QuickQuid have already made an offer… (Surprised)
“Since our involvement Quick Quid has decided to put forward an offer. It’s said it’s willing to do the following:
– Refund interest and charges paid on loans from 3rd October 2012 onwards,
– 8% interest added to this refund, and
– Removal of these loans from your credit file. ”
I had loans from October 2011-March 2013. I still owe £400 (default) I have said I am willing to accept this as long as they wipe the £400 and dont deduct it from the refund. Does this seem like a fair deal?
I sent my complaint to QuickQuid on the 4th April. On the last day of the 8 weeks, they sent an offer to wipe my remaining balance of £400. I declined this and sent my complaint straight to the FOS. Today I was finally assigned to an adjudicator, My first email from them already had an offer from QuickQuid… I dont think this is normal tho to receive an offer so quickly? I have worked out from what they are offering I would be getting back just over £500 + the 8%. I was expecting roughly £700 so I think this is fair.
I have a feeling though they are going to say we will be deducting the £400 default from the refund, if this is the case I will be declining as I said I was expecting £700 (thats after deducting the £400). I cant imagine it could possibly be this easy, especially from QuickQuid.0 -
My cases are still dragging on.
My Quickquid complaint was raised with the FOS 3 weeks ago but I haven't heard from an adjudicator as yet.
My Wonga complaint is in the same situation, although Wonga e-mailed me yesterday to tell me how important I was to them and I am in the queue.......... 12 weeks since my original complaint now!
Very painful!0 -
I have used the online template on the FOS website. All very simple so now the waiting game begins. At least I have plenty more to sort out in the mean time.
What are your thoughts on the fact they offered compensation but didn't uphold the complaint. Is that a tactic to try and soften the blow for them hoping I would accept and leave it at that?
Pretty much,yes-their thinking is you won't want to go through the whole complaints process and they hope it will just disappear.
I was offered a similar amount as a goodwill gesture-far below what I value my complaint to be.It isnt all about the money though.Quis custodiet ipsos custodes?0 -
No I agree. It is also well below what I asked for.
I'm now onto Payday UK and Payday Express. As these two are essentially run by the same people (Dollar Financial I believe) is it worth sending one email to them or to the two of them individually.
Has anyone had dealings with them?0 -

The complaints will need to go seperately, as they will be dealt with by who ever owned the company at the time. Some pduk are dollar, some are MEM and older ones are instant cash loans, so its all very mixed up.
They are utterly attrocious to deal with, although it does seem that they have started to speed up a bit recently.
My complaint is with an adjudicator currently, but I have rejected the offer so it will be going to an ombudsman after 15th July, unless they come back with a much better offer. My original complaint was on 1st April, so we are on week 14 at the moment. i consider myself one of the lucky ones in this respect- many PDUK complaints have dragged on for 6 months or longer.
They will acknowledge the complaint, but thats about it. Expect to have to fight every step of the way, and expect to be constantly ignored if you ask for an update. I cannot even begin to explain the level of frustration I have felt dealing with them.
On the bright side, the adjudicator has sided with me for the most part, so I think it will eventually come good! Good luck.0 -
Update so far...
Quick Quid - Sent to the ombudsman as I mentioned a few posts back
Wonga - Email sent to them. I looked through my bank statements and had 40 separate deposits from them over 2 years. I repaid a total of £3,273.15 in interest, charges, fees and whatever else so have requested all of this back plus 8%.
Payday UK - Email sent to them requesting my statement of account which they said will cost £1.00! I replied to this with my complaint stating it was 'fortunate' I had a record of this from my bank statements! They also managed to get my name wrong in the email!
Payday Express - Same as above.
Lending Stream - Complaint has been sent to them today. Got a reply already saying that they are in the midst of reviewing the complaint and will get back to me shortly. Assume this means in 8 weeks!0 -
Ok so I am still waiting for any kind of communication from Wonga...I'm starting to get annoyed as I've just realised that the date of my 1st loan is 10th July 2010 so I am in no doubt they will try to use the 6 year rule, despite me raising the complaint beginning of April. Is there anything I can do to stop them doing that??0

I would just go to the ombudsman now - as 8 weeks is up? Wonga seem to do the ignoring trick to a lot of people - including me!
I think the FOS will look at the date that you first complained, so don't worry about that. And if they don't you can argue it as they have deliberately delayed responding to you xMarch 2017 - Debt Free- cleared £21,750

The FOS don't usually consider the first few loans anyway. Just issue your complaint to them and provide them with a loan breakdown if you have it and the date you first contacted Wonga to complain. Try and have your credit report and bank statements ready too to back up your claim£2 Savers Club for 2022 #120

Does anyone have any experience of trying to claim from companies that you only borrowed once or twice off? Wondering if it's worth trying with them.0
