You've definitely got a good claim. I defaulted on one of my payday loans due to going into a DMP, however all other loans were paid on time, not because they were affordable, but because I was shuffling borrowings around on an almost daily basis. The FOS has ruled in my favour in the majority of my claims, so they will definitely look at more factors than just whether you had paid on time or not.
Wonga do complete full credit checks for each loan, so they should have been able to identify your dependence on Payday loans.0 -
Hi guys,
I'd like to let you know where I am on reclaiming/changing my credit record with regards to Wonga.
I emailed for an SOA (statement of account) on 18/04/16 with no response. I emailed again on 04/05/16.
I was sent this on 17/05/16, I went through the emails (as there were 2) and compiled all the information from each loan onto a spreadsheet. I worked out that I had paid approx £2500 in interest and charges over the years on about 12 loans.
I emailed them back on the same day explaining my position and circumstances at the time of taking these loans.
They responded on the 26/05/16 explaining that they will be investigating my claim/complaint and it may take up to 8 weeks
Yesterday I had an email from Credit Expert stating there had been a change in my credit rating. Wonga have removed 12 entries and one default, it had a negative effect as they had all been settled but in the long term I can only assume less is more with regards to this type of entry.
So good so far!
Hope this helps,

So wongam refused my push back on them i asked why they only decided 8 of 25 loans were unaffordable. to which they have not given any real indicator, they did not like the fact I mentioned the adjudicator in my complaint.
I phoned my adjudicator after email her to explain why i think they were trying to get a cheap offer in before it got to her.
she said not all loans would fall under affordability which i made clear to her the reason why i felt all loans were unaffordable regardless of amounts.
I had multiple loans with different borrowers all the while having loans with wonga as well as default, wonga performed the credit checks each time like they say they did, then they would of seen this.
I had some loans totalling nearly 1900 a month rolling over.
how can they choose just 8 loans out of 25.
I Always knew it would always be a battle with them from day one.
they don't consider that they have to pay me compensation for the amount of time and stress it has taken. which is wrong.
I am still awaiting fos to make a decision on QQ and they were interested in getting involved in my myjar complaint also.0 -
How long is it just to be assigned to an adjudicator? Been waiting since the 30th of May?0

I'd say it will probably get allocated fairly soon Danni. When I started this process back in October 2015 they were being allocated and in most cases resolved within 2 weeks. Now its looking like allocation takes 4-6 weeks and resolution takes 10-12 (unless it has to go to the ombudsmen, in which case I will probably take up to 6 months in total).
The adjudicators I've worked with recently have issue their opinion, then offered both parties and extra 2 weeks to provide any further information that might sway their decision. In my mind this is a total farce and just gives the spineless scumbag lenders more time to wriggle out of it.0 -
Thank you Ginger Ice.
I just look at it as the longer it takes the more money I get (hopefully)0 -

A cheeky trick. Call them, give your reference number, and say that you're not calling to moan, you just wanted to check that they have received everything you sent, and if they need any other info from you.
Every time I have done that, the person who answered has personally picked it up out of the pile and dealt with it for me. Only do it after you have waited a few weeks though, or it wont work!
Another tip- at the end of the call, they will ask you if you would like to take part in a survey. It take less than a minute, costs you nothing and leaving a bit of praise for the person who will be responsible for you getting thousands back or not certainly cant do any harm!
When you forward your complaint to FOS, they write to the business and ask for their side of the story. If you havent been contacted, it usually means the business havent responded. If you can get an adjudicator allocated to your case, they will chase it up, otherwise it will sit in the pool for a while.0 -
Hi all,
I responded to Wonga's email declining their offer, then received an email today stating that it was their final response and that I now need to wait for FOS to complete their investigation, I'm now starting to doubt whether I'll be entitled to anything at all, as surely with them issuing their final response they really do feel that they've done nothing wrong?0
