you can make your own. you can by a crisp maker on tinternet. and if you grow your own spuds they really will be home made.good luck!
Commercial crisps are made with potatoes not usually available to consumers, I think they are Russet. Probably the closest you can get normally would be King Edward. There is not only a difference between different potatoes of course however the biggie difference is when you bake normal potatoes for chips they go brown and burnt whereas Russet go golden which makes for a far nicer looking crisp. Apparently.
Russet are available, I have bought them in Lidl in the past.
Not sure if Lidl still has them as i stopped eating tatties last year.

I tend to stick with what I like walker's prawn cocktail which is not helping you.
However I do like Brannigan's roast beef and mustard, can be found in farm foods once in a blue moon.
I also tried Tesco's crinkle cut beef and horseradish round someone's house the other week, I scoffed the lot within minutes, gonna be a while before I'm asked round again I think.

Walkers are the worst of branded crisps anyway.
    Seabrooks are the best imho

If you have a Home Bargains or Quality Save near you, pop in there.  They have a whole range.  Kettle Chips.  Tayto.  Seabrook and various others.  Seabrook are nice, the flavour is very full on and they have all kinds of flavours.   I recently tried some Worcestershire Sauce ones and loved them.

Asda own brands are not bad either.  I can't get behind the Lidl own brand ones though, I know they are super cheap but they always taste a bit flat, like they have gone off.

I thought Tayto to be restricted to the Irish market...?

Never tried Seabrook but I may now. Today I bought a 6-pack of Nice n Spicy Nik-Naks and ate more packets than I should have. Complete rubbish but very edible all the same.

Never seen these in 6 packs in Lidl (despite multiple requests!) but thankfully the cheese and onion equivalent are available in 6 packs from Aldi at 99p. And very delicious they are, too :)
    Not plain?
I like plain crisps, I usually buy Kettle crisps multi packs when they are on offer at 99p (5 bags) but I do buy Aldi hand cooked 150gm bags when I can't get them.
Would be great to have an Aldi option.

Just to confirm that Aldi do have the multi packs of hand cooked crisps (25gm x 6) in sea salt, cheddar & red onion and balsamic vinegar.
    99p for 6 bags.
Kettle crisps when on offer are usually £1.00 for 5 x 30gm bags. Same weight for almost the same price.
But Aldi is better for the waistline and pocket.

The Lidl range of Deluxe Crisps is now quite broad - there are about 5 or 6 flavours of Potato crisps (including the very moreish crinkle-cut Aberdeen Angus Beef & Suffolk Ale flavour).   There are also two varieties of vegetable crisps and deluxe tortilla chips, too.

Personally, I wouldn't bother with the Balsamic Vinegar vegetable crisps again, but YMMV (your munching may vary).  If I had to suggest an added flavour for vegetable crisps, I'd probably go with a Chinese or Thai spiced version.

Actually, I really like the balsamic vegetable crisps. I won't kid myself that they are healthy though, they are full of oil!

Funny Lidl has come out with 2 versions of the S&V. Presumably the flavour difference is in the ridges?

Kettle Chips does sea salt & balsamic vinegar; Tyrrell's does sea salt & cider vinegar.  Presumably they want to offer an alternative to both.
