Travel Buddy/Companion/Researching

Hi All
Does anyone have any reputable connections/insights/websites/apps, where you can sign up and see who will be travelling to the destination you will be and then maybe seeing them at the airport etc?

Ive googled a few sites, but they dont look 'legitimate'

Any help on this would be fantastic!

Of course they are not legitimate because 1 It's none of your business 2 It would be a breach of data protection laws.
The only way for it to work would be for someone doing a Facebook group page say, (other social media is available) inviting people to say where and when they were going. (If I was a burglar this would be an invitation to treat LOL).

No. It would breach data protection.
Unless there is something where people could opt in but I haven't seen anything like that plus for the reason above, you wouldn't want it public you will be away from home.

Strangely enough I did hear about such a website last year. It is sign-up based and opt-in so that would get around the GDPR issue.  It wouldn’t be for me and I thought at the time that it was a strange concept and had been doubtful if it would have the sign-up’s and work. Just searched and it is still operational - www.meetup.com

Flyertalk has something called Flightconnect which is described as:
FlightConnect is a calendar where FlyerTalkers can let other FlyerTalkers know where they are going to be, so they can meet up!
I wouldn't bet on someone being in the same place at the same time due to the numbers involved, but it can be done.
