I don't know where the pay 6 month's in advance idea comes from...
This is how monthly payments work for everyone else.
I must be one in million or more then, lucky me

To be precise, you are one in 5.4 million - less the 1.5 million who receive Pension Credit.  :)

AFAIK, the scheme you have been offered has not been widely publicised by BBC/TV Licensing, and therefore it's not surprising that people here don't know about it.

Very odd, it was listed as an option in my letter, plain as day, which was why I chose it
I'd think it unusual if my letter was different from other over 75s, didn't need publicising, it was in the letter from TVL which only needed reading to find all the options available and make a choice from there

    We're still talking at cross-purposes.

Up to now the Monthly DD scheme has involved paying 6 months in advance and then 6 months in arrears.   It's been that way since the scheme was introduced 20(?) years ago.

I'm sure this flat payment scheme is being offered generally to Over-75s, but "we" (the Under-75s) don't know about it because it hasn't been publicised more generally.   It's mentioned in the statement below, but it doesn't say specifically what it is:-
