Hi all, hope you are all well and enjoying this sunshine. Having gone over last month, but only by a few pounds, I would like to be included again for August please. £200, thanks. This thread defiantly keeps me accountable and I still have almost no space in the freezers. Must try to empty them some more. Speak soon, mumtoomany.Frugal Living Challenge 2025.7

Went to butcher's this afternoon to buy sausages, duck breasts and a tray of large eggs. Will do the main shop tomorrow as away on holiday from early next week when we would normally go. Will be taking some food with us as we're away in our motorhome for about a week.

Going for £750 for August
Down on last month's budget but up on last month's spend. We have the step kids for 3 weeks. Also away for a week so that may reduce groceries but increase elsewhere will have to seeAugust Grocery Challenge £161.27/£400.007 -
First big shop done yesterday.
£160.62/£750
OK with that as did buy a fair bit for the freezer. Also bought more bread and beer as often those items which cause me to pop to the co-op/spar and inevitably purchase other items as well as pay more!
The plan for this month is to focus on reducing those extra shops!August Grocery Challenge £161.27/£400.002024 Grocery Challenges Average - 98.67% spend vs Budget

Hello all, I crashed and burned last month due to a seriously ill friend and starting a new job. I don't think that I overspent as there was money in my current account at the end of the month but I definitely lost track, especially of the smaller "top up" shops, some of which were for a friend - not the same one that was ill. I'm going to be more careful this month and count the NSDs too as that seems to help me keep track.
Thanks for running the thread Elsiepac. August is a 5 week month for me so could I be put in for £300 please. That's for me, a 15 year old, a fussy cat and a a few extras for a friend who usually throws a couple of BBQs a year when she provides food so I won't take money off her. Friend is only asking for relatively small stuff that is just awkward to find (the family doesn't have a car).
Today is NSD number one as motorway close to here is shut over the weekend. The roads are very busy so I'll be staying home.7 -
Just a small grocery spend today for mainly salad stuff plus some diet tonic. DH's beer comes from another budget.

Went to Morries early this morning, first time ever visit as didn't know there was one near me. Spent £9.99 on some veg for batch cooking as running out of meals, frozen fruit and eggs.
Payday is changing to the end of the month so August will now be 5 weeks. Only a few more days but will need to stretch budget a bit and keep spending to a minimum. Just have to hope that the food I already have will see me through.
Total so far is £58.87 so £31.13 to last until end of August.7 -
I'm off into August with £80 spent between yesterday at the market and today at the bakers. We have virtually all we'll need for the week - probably! Because we now have my mother staying after being released from hospital, and she's milk & gluten free, so some extra expense may be incurred. But there's lots coming back from the allotment, so I should be able to stay out of the shops, mostly... fingers crossed!
