It's a good reason to shop at Sainsbury's, Tesco or Morrisons, you can support British business and do your bit to grow/sustain your pension pot at the same time! Even if it's apparently more expensive.
If your pension pot contains any of those, even via a fund, you likely  have some bad investments.
I knew someone would quickly take the bait. So by that it's preferable to line the pockets of private company owners instead.
limiting your investments to a set number of supermarkets is poor value for pension growth.
When your investing money outside of your house, who's 'pockets' are you lining as so to speak. Even a savings account at a bank your 'lining' their pockets.

Such a poor term to use.

Failure to diversify your investments will limit your growth and increase exposure to risk, or did you not know that already?

I'd suggest there are about 15 people in the UK who do their main shop at a supermarket out of some sort of sense of patriotism.

While Asda and Tesco were building big box outlets (in a market that already had too much space) Aldi and Lidl were delivering what people wanted. Smaller local stores with less choice and better prices. It's so yesterday to call an aisle of pasta, another of toilet rolls and another of shampoo a choice - it isn't - who can be bothered to get 2500 steps in traipsing up and down aisles of the same things in different packaging.

It's a fools errand to buy things from a retailer that doesn't deliver what the market wants for reasons of patriotism or any other reason really.
