Open as many banks accounts as possible to put the maximum protected £85k in each....

Then try and remember all the individual passwords.

You can stick £4m... oh no £4.05m in NS&I :)

Only five million left for running costs and servants though!

And I forgot the stamp duty so it would have to be a more modest semi.

I'm a guitar "nerd" so I'd open a small guitar museum/exhibition of unusual guitars. The sort of instruments that most people would say "Oooh! Heard of that but never seen one!"  (e.g. Gibson Firebird 7 in a purple sparkle finish)
Now a gainfully employed bassist again - WooHoo!

    Be a secret benefactor.

Seek out deserving folk who need a hand/leg-up/urgent help and anonymously donate what they need.

The number of people who sink through want of a few thousand at the right time are such that the £50,000,000 could spread a long way.

But how would you be sure you are not doing them disservice interfering with the natural course of actions ..
Besides it may not be good for you - to sit in a position where you decide who lives and who dies so to say..
Similar about those who would give a million to 50 people - imagine how many would be upset with you that you have not included them. And what if out of those 50 a few couples would have split up , some would go into a major depression episode, some died from overdose or killed themselves - how would you feel about that after ..
The word "dilemma" comes from Greek where "di" means two and "lemma" means premise. Refers usually to difficult choice between two undesirable options.
Often people seem to use this word mistakenly where "quandary" would fit better.
