PPI - Missing Final Settlement Letter

I received a PPI payment on March 5th this year for Lloyds Bank Cheltenham and Gloucester mortgage. The money just appeared in my bank account with no prior notice. Phoned Lloyds; was told settlement letter sent on February 23rd (which I never received.) They assured me letter would be resent. Very long story short. I have phoned (no letter still) written (no response.)  I know we are living in difficult times but I made a formal complaint though the Lloyd's online service in early June.
Today I received a formal reply to my complaint:. The letter was in regard in regard to Bank Of Scotland mortgage with different PPI reference, stating they can't find the details?! Phoned Lloyd's in bewilderment. A very long call. Apparently this is a combined response to my claim complaint (lodged with a different PPI number)  The lass went off several times to confer, said she was unable to let me talk to supervisor. Told me final settlement letter would be resent but could give me no time frame whatsoever.
I have lost all faith; this was the biggest load of confused, vague waffle I have ever heard. What can I do? Don't want to go to Financial ombudsman for  a  relatively trivial matter  but SO annoyed  nearly six months later Lloyds still have not  managed to send a simple letter.
(Apologies if part of this message appeared earlier - not sure I didn't inadvertently send )   :(

Nothing you can do in that case.

DO you think they haven't paid you what they should? It' probably the only reason you'd want to see the letter....You still have a month to complain to the Ombudsman if you're going from MArch.
Did you make a complaint then? As you seem surprised the money 'just turned up'....

Thank you for your advice. Have no idea if I have been paid in the right region but would also like to claim the tax back.
Just really want to see a breakdown of what was paid.
  • I requested a second letter from Lloyds and it took months, probably 3-4 months. Think it's just a case of waiting

Thank you - I appreciate your answer. But getting on for six months and no final letter asked for with polite requests is bugging me now.
