As some of the big names are retreating from their deals on PAYG, is this the beginning of the end? Are we being forced onto monthly contracts? I am on Three PAYG 123 but that has been replaced with a much more expensive option.

Who knows? Piece of string reallyFWIW I would assume while there's a market for PAYG it will be available from somewhere, maybe not at a price you like but PAYG non the lessEight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens1

As above my Giffgaff PAYG has increased considerably .

I'm still with Three's 123 and there's no increase - I just topped up another £20, should keep me going until this time next yearNever under estimate the power of stupid people in large numbers2

I am on Three PAYG 123 but that has been replaced with a much more expensive option. The problem with PAYG from the phone company's point of view is that you make practically sod all from PAYG customers. At least with the contract route not only can you lock them into 24 months at £32 a month (or whatever), but you can also flog the phone to them as well, and flog an "upgrade" in two years time.Actual "air time" as such - ie call time, texts and data - is relatively cheap to the provider. The bulk of costs to most mobile phone companies is the infrastructure, the personnel and the hardware to make it all work.0

Im on 02 classic tariff which is now discontinued. But people allready on it can stay on it,but if you change your tarriff, you will not be able to revert back to it. Before i was on the classic tariff,i was on the text and web tariff,i was on it for years, and they never tried to get me off it0
