Our DPD service is the only one we can rely on to deliver when they say they will.

Got to say DPD have been brilliant for me over the years, never had a damaged order or late parcel, Hermes on the other hand...

DPD have always been excellent in my area I used to dread expecting anything to be delivered by Hermes, had nothing but problems with them but they recently appear to have got their act together, now get emails with tracking and delivery time slots plus our local courier is reliable and friendly, a big improvement.

TNT were the were the worst ones for me. I was out so got the "We've left your parcel with a neighbour" card.
Brilliant, I'll pop around and get it I thought. Care to tell me which neighbour you've left it with TNT? Or do you want me to knock on every door in the street until I stumble across the right one.

Best deliveries for me by far.  Text around 7am with a 2 hour time slot.  Within 10 minutes of
the start time they are here.

    DPD excellent for me too
OP if you give even a hint of that attitude to people in real life, it won't go well. A cubicle monkey? Really? Just someone trying to earn a living probably and not drilled specifically to spoil your day.
We all know courier services vary. Its part of the race to the bottom in a sector where we want Rolls Royce service for a push bike price.
You can achieve contactless with the stand back and smile method.
In future, take it up with the supplying company - DPD's relationship is with them. It might give you a better distance if you get this frustrated with things.

That's got little to do with the company (other than pushing unreasonable targets) and everything to do with your local driver ... some are excellent (like ours was until recently - for some reason she got let-go) and others less-so (like our new driver who is living up to Hermes' reputation).

My DPD delivery guy was great.
When my 14kg parcel was delivered and he realised I couldn't lift it, he said 'where do you want it' and popped it on the table just inside the front door. An absolute star.
The best portion of your life will be the small, nameless moments you spend smiling with someone who matters to you.

DPD let me go online and tick the box for safe place, where I accept liability for the safety of the delivery. A notice on a door doesn't cover them legally.
It seems entirely reasonable to me, and I note you are able to work the internet, so this is an option for you.
If you called me a cubicle monkey, you'd go on the offensive customers list, and we'd refuse to deliver.

But how can you choose what company delivers your stuff if your ordering from Anazon or ebay?
