Barclay card rewards credit card use abroad

I have just been told in a branch that there is a charge if I use my Barclaycard Rewards Visa Card when I use it abroad even if I stick to the currency of the country I am in. This is not what it says on the MSE page.0

And it's not what their website says either.symonpaul said:I have just been told in a branch that there is a charge if I use my Barclaycard Rewards Visa Card when I use it abroad even if I stick to the currency of the country I am in. This is not what it says on the MSE page.
Given branch staff are not known for being the most clued up bunch I'd be inclined to disregard what they say. If you want to be extra cautious just screenshot the Rewards card page on the Barclaycard site and use this as evidence if needs be.1 -

Your Barclaycard Rewards offers
You get 0.25% cashback on all your purchases. Plus you won't pay fees on non-sterling purchases. If you joined before 9 December you would have been told there was an expiry date on these offers. The good news is that from 9 December they both became permanent features of the card and so your terms have been updated to show the 0% non-sterling purchase fee.
When was this announced? I must have missed this email.
Also, just to be clear, have the features become permanent for people who applied and were accepted after the 9th December? Or is it for everyone, including those who applied and were accepted before the 9th December?0
