When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.
But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free.
Examples could be hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.
So be proud of those small steps, they really are important 😀

Hi all
Not a great week for anxiety/health this week. Fingers crossed various checks ill show it's all in my head and that my head can get help :-)
Moneywise-- -STOP BUYING NONSENSE! It's been a big month with car repair and BFF's birthday and I have bought too many coffees. Must tighten belt til payday.
- -Book hotel for visiting my folks down south. They can't put us up, so this will prob be my CC's first outing in 2020. if I can find the CC. Which currently I can't.
- -meals from stores.
- -walk dog=free exercise
- -try to be calm despite massive anxiety. Can't do much else. Must avoid all social media/news and definitely not shop to ease anxiety (see above re nonsense.)
-TA2022PEAK Dec 2019: £24,273 -- NOW Virgin £2377 Markses £681 Halifax £6143 Loan £6696 Family loan £5819 TOTAL: £21,706 -- Paid off: £2308. Target: Jan 2023 LBM: monthly pay but weekly spend dohDecember 2020 target = £18212 and nothing added to CCs AND by paying an extra 20 a month on something I just knocked 8 months off my target date :-)

Thank you for this weeks thread @purpleFairy26.
Hello to all
In the way of small things...
I drove dh's car back to the garage as the brakes are still squeaking but walked home rather then us go in two cars and get a lift back. Will collect the car again tomorrow morning as my car is going in tomorrow for its service and mot.
Started a new workout website (the body project) that is partially free (I will just do the free ones)
Triaged the fridge, used lots of odds and ends to make a chicken and potato curry.
Had my icyland delivery, glad the code worked for you @DawnW -
Cut open a plastic bottle of brown sauce to get the dregs
Froze 3 very brown bananas to use in a recipe at a later date rather then them go to waste
First day of the holidays but did a maths and a french lesson with ds2 using Oak national academy website.
Sorted out some cupboards and did some straightening up, we've got the kids new bed bases coming this week so things need clearing.
Going for a walk shortly with dh, just around the block but its nice to have some "us" time!
Right, dh is ready to go so I'll better go!
Take care all.Sticking with the "Small things" thread to keep up us on the straight and narrow.

Evening everyoneThanks for the start PurpsMostly sunny today, so I stripped the bed and washed the linen. Must get it in shortly. Other things:Early morning dog walk as usualGot camping stuff out of loft as we are going to camp in DD1's field later in the week. Loaded most of what is needed into camper van out of the way.Brushed carpet in camper van first because it was covered in pine needles (last week OH took a potted Christmas tree that needed more space to DD1, who wants to plant it out in her garden so the kids can decorate an outside tree)The GC's travel cot went to a new home today, as all grandchildren are now too big for it. A bit sad in a way but it is nice to have the space again!Sorted out a couple of flannelette (sp?) duvet sets for DD2. We find them too hot and scratchy but she likes them and loves the patterns on these. Not moneysaving for me, but helps DD out and I do love a bit of decluttering!)Picked lots of basil, a courgette, a handful of raspberries and a tomato from the gardenFed and watered the basil plants after they had had their 'haircut'Made a big pan of bacon and vegetable soup, a batch of pesto and a frittata for dinner, Used up lots of bits in the soup and frittata
Put some of the pesto in the freezer.
I still need to check the banks and update my spreadsheet4 -
Many thanks for starting us off @PurpleFairy26.
Im another who is abit all over the place, out of routine and not sleeping well.
Decided to throw myself into the day.
Have washing that needs doing everywhere plus DD stripped the beds yesterday. Have been waiting for the good weather. Finally arrived so washing machine has been going none stop making the most of the weather while we can
*banking all checked, everything good.
* must up date spends book
*also did a free exercise class this morning
*more decluttering on the go, both from me and DD
*signed up to the app 'Too good to go'.
Read about it over the weekend with places and supermarkets signing up to it to help prevent foodwaste doing boxes of food cheap thru the app. My local morries looked very popular (less than 10 mins away for me), boxes going quick but managed to reserve one for pick up this evening for a try.
Boxes can be a really mix of things(fruit, veg, bread, cheese, bread etc, a lucky dip).Picked up first box tonight-7 loaves of bread, french stick, individual danish pastries, 2 packs of mr kipling fruit pies, 4 packs of choc brioche (which has made DD very happy) pack of seeded ciabattas and.....a 12.5kg bag of potatoes all for £3.09!!
Freezer stocked up with bread but the biggest shock had to be the potatoes. All will be used well.
While sorting out the freezer i found some Christmas beef offcuts. Thought they had all been used up so they have been pulled out ready for a slow cooker casserole with mash tomorrow.
*have run the hoover over several times today. Want to do the kitchen floor again before bed. It keeps getting into a right state.
*DD dropped a parcel off at the post office for me, used RM stamps to send.
Thats about it from me, have a good evening everyone and stay safe x

Well done on the 2 good 2 go bad @Happy_Kitties. I got one pre lockdown from a lock all grocers and it was good but not as epic as yours! The morry ones are a bit hit and miss to access here as our local store often doesn’t participate but I’ll keep an eye out. Thank for the reminder.3

Evening all,
A busy day here, picked up dh's car when I dropped mine off for its service/mot, no more squeaky brakes. Mine passed no problems so that was good and I walked to collect it so got some exercise in too.
Leftover curry for tea tonight.
Dismantled the kids beds and their new divan bases are arriving tomorrow. DS1 is too long for his bed with the foot end and ds2s metal frame is twisting.
Checked banking, updated spreadsheet and cancelled a no longer needed dd.
Cleared part of the garden as its our garden waste collection tomorrow and I want to make the most of it!
Thats about it! Take care all.
