IHT forms

If you send in forms 400/421 when you don’t need to, will HMRC accept/use them or will you have to do form 205 instead?
I think I maybe didn’t need to send in 400/421 after all so I’m now wondering what will happen to my probate application, which I sent off on the same day? (as HMRC stamp and send the 421 to probate) .
I started on form 205 but as I answered Yes to a question about annuities it stated to do form 400 instead but that didn’t mention annuities at all. There was a question about pensions that I answered No to and that was it.
It’s a simple estate - 1 property/bank account and a couple of classic cars,  all together about £180k.
