My partner has poor credit.
She’s not currently on the electrol roll.
If I register her at this address, will I be affected?
We have no financial ties.
Many thanks.

Why is she currently not on the ER?12BOB said:My partner has poor credit. She’s not currently on the electrol roll.If I register her at this address, will I be affected? We have no financial ties. Many thanks.0 -
If you register here no difference: http://www.electrol.co.uk/12BOB said:My partner has poor credit. She’s not currently on the electrol roll.If I register her at this address, will I be affected? We have no financial ties. Many thanks.
But if you register here: https://www.gov.uk/electoral-register
It will affect any council tax discount, and may be noted as a financial association on your credit report, if you’ve been considered to have a financial relationship.
"Usually spouses, partners, or family members, a link will be made between you both when you submit a credit application together (a joint mortgage, for example) or if you are jointly named on an account (shared gas or electricity, for example".

It is a legal requirement that she is on the ER if she is living there.

You can't register her at your address, Electoral Registration is now the responsibility of individuals. Your partner can only register at addresses where she normally lives.12BOB said:My partner has poor credit. She’s not currently on the electrol roll.If I register her at this address, will I be affected? We have no financial ties. Many thanks.
If your partner is a British EU or Commonwealth Citizen, she should register to vote where she normally lives.
Your Council should ask you to compete a Household Enquiry Form each year. If your partner lives with you, and she is eligible for inclusion on the register, then you should list her on the Household Enquiry Form. The Council will then write to her, at your address, and ask her to register. If she refuses, she could be fined.
It is an offence knowingly to provide false information on an electoral registration form, which on conviction can result in imprisonment and/or an unlimited fine.

Why the "quotes". Perfectly correct use of the verb "affect".sourcrates said:12 bob non the richer, no bob, it won`t "affect" you financially one bit.
If Bob's partner registers at Bob's address, then Bob could be affected. The effect might be that Bob loses a Council Tax Single Person Discount.0 -
Personally the quotes make sense? LOL. But I think as it has now been pointed out a few times. BOB might lose his discount by letting this person with a poor credit record and has not registered anywhere for electoral registration to allow herself to be registered there.Nick_C said:

I think BOB should have a good think what he wants and where his future may end up?

Its the OP that is asking to register? So 18yrs in England, sensible? 16yrs in Scotland, perhaps not so sensible?Nick_C said:

But what ever, if the OP is asking then I would assume eligible?
