returning a virgin phone...?

hi,

i bought a virgin mobile via their website and after a week of having it i'm pretty fed up of the poor signal, plus they were supposed to port my number from Three last week and still have not. as a result i have not been able to use my virgin mobile for the last four days.

their website states a 28 day refund guarantee, but the phone must be in its original packaging. does it matter that i've taken off the plastic screen sticker?

i know that might sound like an odd question but i just wondered if anybody had any experiences of returning their phone? i dont want to go through the hassle of sending it back if they dont accept it.

Thanks
TT

I returned my Lobster after they had them on offer earlier this year. Had tested it out but hadn't made any calls on it. Just gave them a ring, they sent me a prepaid courier bag and I got my refund a couple of weeks later. They were excellent, but ring them to arrange, don't just send it back.
  • yeah i'm just a bit worried as i have used the phone and like i said i've taken the plastic sticker off the main display screen.

it says the phone must be in its original packaging - not sure whether this comes under that. my other half claims they wont accept it because of that stupid sticker!

I would think they're talking more about the box and manual etc, wouldn't worry about the sticker. I doubt they'll just send them out to the next customer, they'll have the phone memory cleared, a quick wipe, and who knows, maybe even a new sticker ;) - they'll just be concerned about scratches or marks.

Look at it this way, what have you got to lose? They send you a prepaid envelope so the worst that can happen is they send it back to you. I used mine for a good week or two and didn't get any quibbles.
  • Well today i packed the bloody thing back to Virgin in their pre-pay packaging so we shall see what happens!

My number should have ported from Three to Virgin last Thursday. What actually happened was the Virgin phone went over to my old number but the Three one has not gone off. I now have two monthly contract phones using the SAME number but all calls and texts go the Three one. I can't send or receive texts or receive calls on the Virgin one.

Three are blaming Virgin. Virgin are blaming Three. Nobody at either CS centre can tell me what the hell is going on or when it would be resolved.

So i've sent the Virgin one back and cancelled the direct debit.

I'm really very annoyed because I've had that number for over seven years and ported it with ease from Vodafone to O2 and then to Three. But now Three seem to have decided that they will not give it up even though they issued me with a PAC code.

I don't know if this is a problem with Three in general or just my poor luck. I'm gonna buy a new O2 monthly contract when the Virgin account has been closed off. Not sure whether to try porting from Three again to O2 or to just stick with the new number.

My (short) experience of Virgin Mobile has been very poor!
