Covid test proof

Right in what way? Someone could have a test in front of them that said they had covid, but their partner could lie because they want to return to work, so I could see why the employer might want to see it.louiset22 said:She’s already shown proof of both, but it just didn’t seem right to be asking for mine, they stated that the employment solicitor needed it?
Whether there is any case law that would cover this situation and what a court would ultimately decide is something I wouldn't be able to answer. It's not something I would risk creating a precedent for, in case the court decides that it's ok to ask everyone in your household to be tested for all manner of things.
But what seems wrong about it? Don't you think it's kinda relevant? The employer has a responsibility under H&S law to create a safe workplace.
I doubt the solicitor personally needs it, they might have said it was wise for the employer to get it or it might be made up. The normal excuse is that the liability insurer needs it.

The reason for needing evidence is that some people will lie in order to get back to work, especially if they’re not being paid and need the money (not saying your daughter would, but the policy has to be the same for everyone).

She has already told them it is negative, so not like she is disclosing anything else medical. Seems pointless to me but just show it and move on.0

It seems totally pointless asking for your results unless you were the symptomatic person and she was just the contact.
I guess you could refuse and their only recourse would be to exclude her from the workplace for 14 days.0 -
which is exactly what OP said in the first postDr_Crypto said:It seems totally pointless asking for your results unless you were the symptomatic person and she was just the contact.

As far as I'm aware an employer doesn't have the right to be given medical evidence for their own employee, never mind a relative of their employee. Although, saying that they wouldn't be obligated to pay company sick pay if you're unwilling to share details about why you were off sick. There are instances where they can ask an employee to undertake a medical test which they arrange to prove they are fit for work.0
