CCS Collection Vodafone
Options
Hi, I've had an ongoing compliant with Vodafone since November 2019. Ive followed all usual routes to complain including CEDR.
To cut a REALLY long story as short as possible, Vodafone wrongly charged us a monthly bill of over £500 (our bill is usually £120) we queried this and they agreed to look into it. I asked if we would be charged and was informed they would put our account on hold until it was sorted. I clarified with customer services that we would not be cut off and she confirmed we definitely wouldn't be cut off whilst it was being investigated. A few days later, whilst my father was unexpectedly critically ill in intensive care all of our family phones were cut off. With the situation with my father we were forced to pay the £500 there and then to re activate our phones. We then had a nightmare trying to get the money returned with the wrong amounts being sent and to inactive bank accounts from years ago. Finally we thought it was sorted and then the following month we had a £400+ bill. At this point we contacted Vodafone again and continued the dispute and refused to pay until it was sorted - this again resulted in us being cut off. Over a month later the issue was still not resolved. We had no working phones due to them all being locked to Vodafone so we were unable to put different SIM cards in. We were forced to get new contracts with another network so that we had mobile phones which for all of us is a necessity.
Fast forward to today. Vodafone admitted their wrong doings however are refusing to return the money and insisting on us paying the last 6 months worth of usage. We have had a letter for £1554.84 and then they also want us to continue with our contracts until the end of the agreement which will be another £1500.
I do not feel we should have to pay any of this, Vodafone have not provided us with a service since November 2019 and have wrongly overcharged and cut us off. But, I have contacted Vodafone to explain that I just want this all over and that we will pay the £1554 up to now but that I would like our contracts terminated. Vodafone are refusing this and we have had collection letters from CCS stating to pay and then our lines will be reconnected. I really do not want to go to court but feel this is the only option now.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

If you made a complaint through CISAS then you should have a decision from a legally qualified adjudicator, unless you reached a settlement with Vodafone.0

The decision from CISAS was that Vodafone should apologise and pay us £120 but then to continue with our contracts. We now unfortunately have contracts with another network as we were cut off for so long and the phones were locked. It is an account with 4 phones - one for each of us in the family.0

The trouble is you stopped paying them and got another contract out and not cancelling the voda one so they will charge you an early termination charge because you broke the contract.
Don't get me wrong i do see where you are coming from but they will hit your credit history with late payments if they haven't already and send bailiffs road if its not paid.
Have you tried to get something like Citizen advice? they may be able to help you.
Hope you do get it sorted because its a lot of money they want....Good luck....Nobody is Perfect. I am Nobody, therefore I am Perfect.0 -
i would like to know what the extra £500 charges were actually for?Remaining Debt - starting - £1609.44/current - £1457.730

I would immediately check your credit file. I had a problem with Vodafone and it was only about £20 if I remember correctly and they put a marker on my credit file. Vodafone are very quick at putting markers on peoples credit files.
