Help To Buy ISA cap and chattels
WantToHelp
Have carefully read HMRC guidance on chattels and stamp duty in the SDLTM (July update), and fully understand the need for fair and reasonable value. But I cannot find any guidance at all on whether this impacts the £250,000 cap within the H2B ISA scheme. If the property is £250,000 but there are additional chattels of (say) £2,500 - genuine and valued honestly - would the total amount paid of £252,500 mean I forfeit the benefits of the ISA? Or does the value of the chattels have the same status as in calculation of stamp duty? Thanks!
