Best card to use for New Zealand

Hello 

I am soon traveling for Critical purpose to New Zealand, what is the best card to use to not get charged a lot for exchange rate. Any advice would be so useful

On a trip in March, I used a combination of Halifax Clarity credit card and Starling debit card. Used Starling for 1 ATM cash withdrawal. No charge from Starling but TSB ATM had charge of 7.50 NZD with no warning, which was an expensive lesson! No problem using either card, even for relatively small amounts.

I used Revoult card, you can only take upto 200 GBP out in cash amount free fee but nearly EVERYWHERE takes card and paywave/contactless, depends on how long you are going to be there outside of quarantine, if its for a longish time it maybe worth while seeing if you can open an account most banks give ATM cards as soon as you open the account, no embossed name.

I had no issues with either my Halifax Clarity or my Santander Zero card whilst in NZ.  Perfect exchange rates and accepted everywhere.  Make sure that the credit limit that you have is adequate, as NZ wasn't very easy on the pocket.
