Here I go again on my own....0 -
Not saying it was fair, but a lot of the schemes have not been fair. They were all made in a hurry basically on the back of a packet of cigarettes and not patched up afterwards.0

I have paid PAYE for 30+ years.
My PAYE is paid annually every year, so I am excluded from support.I have not been allowed to work for 4 months and have no income. My friends here in Leicester are dying from poverty. The government has blood on it's hands.-1 -
If you are paid annually, presumably 31st March, then you will have received this year's payment as per usual based on the business performance of the preceding period.
Reduced business from end March onwards will not have affected personal finances at this stage. The annual paid may need support in 12 month's time, but there is also ample time to plan for this event.3 -

Maybe you (Leicester) should have followed guidance and rules and avoided the local lockdown1 -

My PAYE is paid annually every year, so I am excluded from support. As you are paid annually (which is normally in March), you do not require monthly support.
I have not been allowed to work for 4 months and have no income. If you are paid annually, why do you need income for those 4 months?
The government has blood on it's hands. No it doesn't. It's more likely you were gaming the system to your advantage. e.g. by taking an annual salary you reduced costs of running a monthly payroll system. Probably saving you around £300 a year. You say you done this for over 30 years. So, 30 x £300 is £9000 in cost savings over that period (in real terms). If you were on monthly payroll, you would be taking £719pm salary (to the Primary Threshold). You could claim 80% of that which is £575.20. You say you would claim 4 months worth which is £2,300. So, if you had been on monthly payroll, you would have got £2300 but over 30 years it would have cost you £9000. So, you are financially better off through annual payroll.
As you had your salary in March and are you not due for it again until next March, you dont need support.
My friends here in Leicester are dying from poverty.Maybe they should have taken lockdown and social distancing more seriously.

Why should someone paid annually have to get a loan, whereas someone paid monthly is entitled to a grant?
And to the "comedian" who said because someone is paid annually, it doesn't matter that they haven't had 4 months of income (as they have just been paid in April using last year's money), what are you proposing they live off this time next year - when they've lost 1/3rd and probably more of their 2020/21 income - fresh air?
