BT issue

I have noticed that after many many months of paying £79 a month to BT that I called them and asked why. As BT fibre 1 was only £26 .  They advised as on older customer they just hike up the price to double as the contract ends. They only started telling people about this in Feb this year. I have paid hundreds of pounds more.  Has anyone come across this. They say I can't be refunded.  Very annoying . Chris

Not BT's responsibility to check you're on the right tariff for you.  That's for you to know.  Should have noticed sooner.  This is the result of apathy.

This is how we learn.  Remember to check for new customer offers from other providers when your contract is ending and play everybody off each other.  The savings can be huge, if you learn how to use the system.

There is no advantage in being loyal or lazy, it just costs you lots of money

Its the same with gas, leccy, mobile phones, Sky, insurance etc.  If you  become complacent and dont stay on the ball then you get rolled over.
Never under estimate the power of stupid people in large numbers

Unfortunately that's just how it is but agree it's frustrating. It's definitely recommended to shop around after the deal has finished.
