MBNA reporting out of date balances to credit reference

I've finally lost patience with MBNA. Back in February I took out a cash transfer to pay up front for a holiday, on the back of knowing I had some locked up savings maturing a couple of months later.  I settled the balance at the end of April. Come July and my Experian credit report still shows that full balance outstanding which is affecting my credit rating. They're also reporting the post April balance, which contained a small residual interest but was settled the first week of May, to Equifax.
All other credit cards get the balance right the month after settling.

So I've now raised it as a complaint with MBNA and told them to cancel my account. They may offer attractive transfer rates but they're hopeless at administration.

They're dealing with multiple thousands of payment holidays and other difficulties right now due to the pandemic that's going on, and the limited staff they have in their offices. Yes some card providers have now caught up with their data, and are updating the CRA's, but some are still working on it. You're probably cutting off your nose to spite your face in light of the current world-wide circumstances - but that's your choice. Not 'All other credit cards get the balance right' at the moment - I still have two non-MBNA cards that haven't yet fully updated. With patience they'll soon be done, and if you need proof they are paid off for something like a mortgage application, most lenders will accept statements to show payments have been made where CRA's haven't yet been updated.

Same experience with MBNA, even pre-covid. They were continually 3 months late in updating balances. They are hopeless in general with updating CRAs, not just recently because of covid.
